Apart from making and preparing gifts and decorations for Christmas, one thing that I love the most is cooking the food and treats that we’ll serve at the party or even give away to loved ones. Giving food as a gift is a great idea if you can’t decide or find the perfect item for that special someone, and this is even better because they will surely appreciate it no matter what.

This Christmas butter cookie recipe by CakeAccake on YouTube is not only a great gift but also the perfect treat to serve on your holiday table. It’s very simple to make and has a light, buttery, and chocolatey taste that I’m sure is perfect even for those who don’t love sweets that much. Learn how now by watching the video tutorial below. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I did!
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, add the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt, then beat them until well combined, add the flour, and keep mixing until dough forms. Transfer the dough to a flat surface, then knead it until smooth log, and divide it into 3 portions.
Step 2
For dough 1, add 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder, then mix until incorporated, and for dough 2, mix in 6 teaspoons of cocoa powder and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Cut each dough into 12 pieces evenly, then place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and press them down to flatten them slightly.
Step 3
Put them in the fridge, then let them chill for a few minutes, and start working on your dough pieces 3 dough at a time. Knead them into long strips at 21cm or 8¼ inches, then stack the 3 strops together, and roll the ends in opposite directions as demonstrated in the video.
Step 4
Cut them into 7cm or 2¾ inches each, then place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and put them in an oven preheated at 160°C or 320°F. Allow them to bake for about 14 to 16 minutes, then let them cool completely, and serve. Enjoy!
