The best way to transform leftover bread is to turn it into a delicious pudding, and my favorite go-to recipe is this one by Kitchen Sanctuary on YouTube. This pudding is loaded with chocolatey goodness with a hint of citrus flavor, it is also filled with candied peels and raisins which makes it even more incredibly delicious.

I’m sure that when you try this yummy pastry, you won’t be able to stop eating until it’s all gone, you might even leave bread on purpose just so you can make this dish. You can also serve this to your guests for snack time and top it with ice cream or eat it as is. Learn how to make this pudding now with the help of the video tutorial below.
Step 1
Grease a large baking dish with butter or nonstick cooking spray and set it aside. Rub butter over each slice of bread, then cut them into 1-inch chunks, and add them to the prepared baking dish.
Step 2
Add in the candied peel and sultanas, and set them aside. Add the milk, heavy cream, and vanilla extract to a pan, then heat the mixture until almost boiling making sure to give them a good stir, and turn off the heat.

Step 3
In a large measuring cup, add the egg yolks, brown sugar, and cornstarch, then whisk everything until well combined, and then gradually add in the hot milk mixture a little at a time while whisking consistently until well mixed. Pour the mixture back into the pan, then turn on the heat to medium, and allow it to thicken while stirring slowly.
Step 4
Turn off the heat, then add the orange extract and dark chocolate, and give them a good stir until melted. Pour in the chocolate mixture over the bread, then gently toss them together until evenly coated, and let them sit for about 30 minutes until the bread has absorbed most of the chocolate.
Step 5
While waiting for the bread, preheat your oven to 350°F, then once ready, sprinkle the chocolate chips over the bread mixture, and put them in the oven. Allow them to bake for about 25 to 30 minutes or until the edges are crispy, then garnish them with orange slices and powdered sugar, and serve. Enjoy!
