Frosting
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F, then line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper, and grease it with nonstick cooking spray with flour. In a large bowl, add the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt, then whisk them until combined, and set them aside.
Step 2
In a large bowl, add the cooled butter, brown sugar, and sugar, then stir everything until combined, add the egg and vanilla, and continue to stir until incorporated. Gradually add in the flour mixture while stirring well in between each addition, then add the chocolate chips, and keep stirring until evenly combined.
Step 3
Transfer the batter to the prepared pan, then spread it evenly, and place it in the preheated oven to bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Once done baking, place the pan on a wire rack, then let the cookie cool completely, and remove it from the pan.
Step 4
For the frosting, beat the butter in a bowl over medium speed until creamy, then gradually add the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, ½ cream, vanilla, and salt, and continue to mix until fluffy and combined. Transfer the frosting to a piping bag, then decorate the cake however you want, and garnish it with sprinkles. Serve and enjoy!
