Pineapple upside-down cake is a famous and classic dessert that is most commonly served during the holiday season or other special occasions, but it can also be served on ordinary days because they are super easy and quick to make.

Step 1
Add the egg, white granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cooking oil, and milk in a medium-sized mixing bowl, then whisk them together until combined. Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, and cocoa powder over the mixture, then stir them until well incorporated. Preheat your oven to 350°F, then peel off the skin of the bananas, and slice them lengthwise.
Step 2
Place an oven-safe skillet on a stove over medium-low heat, then melt the butter, and move it around the bottom of the pan to coat it. Add the brown sugar, give it a good stir, and cook it for a few minutes until the sugar has dissolved, then place the bananas in the skillet with their cut side down as shown in the video.
Step 3
Pour the batter over them evenly spreading it out to the edges, and place it in the preheated oven to bake for about 18 to 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean. Once done baking, remove the cake from the oven, then let it cool for about 10 minutes, and flip it upside down to a serving plate. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
