Ingredients for Chicken Lo Mein:

  • 1 pound of fresh egg noodles or 12 ounces of dried noodles
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • ½ onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • ½ ounce of ginger, grated
  • 8 ounces of chicken breast, sliced thinly
  • ½ red bell pepper, sliced thinly
  • 4 stalks of yu choy, cut into 2-inches long
  • 2 stalks of green onion, cut into 2-inches long
  • 1 tsp of sesame oil
  • 1 tsp of roasted sesame seeds

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp of oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp of dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp of better-than-chicken bouillon
  • 2 tsp of brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp of ground white pepper

How to Make Chicken Lo Mein:

Step 1

Prepare all of the ingredients, then in a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, bouillon, brown sugar, and white pepper until uniform, and set the sauce aside. Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions and set them aside, then place a wok or large frying pan on a stove over medium heat, and heat the cooking oil.

Add the onion, then saute for about 1 to 2 minutes, add the garlic and ginger, and continue to toss and cook for 30 more seconds or until fragrant. Add the chicken, then stir fry until cooked through and no longer pink, then add the red bell pepper and yu choy, and give them a good toss stir-frying them for another minute.
