Dumplings
Step 1
Rinse the chicken well, then add them to a pot on a stove over medium-high heat, and add in the carrots and herbs as well. Pour in a lot of water to the pot until almost full or the chicken is fully submerged, then add the bay leaves, salt, onion, and chicken seasoning, and give them a good stir to combine. Cover the pot with the lid, then bring it to a boil, and as it begins to simmer, remove the foam at the top with a strainer to get rid of all impurities. Place the lid back into the pot again, then slightly uncover it, and allow the chicken to simmer and cook for about 45 minutes.

Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, baking powder, salt, and Crisco, then pour the milk gradually into 3 additions and stir them all together until a dough starts to form. Sprinkle some flour on the counter, then transfer the dough, and knead them together until smooth. Sprinkle more flour and coat the rolling pin as well, then roll and flatten the dough, and cut them with a flour-coated knife into the desired shape and size.
Step 3
Check the chicken, then remove the herbs and veggies, and start shredding the meat off the bones using 2 tongs discarding the bones after. Add butter, then season them with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and chicken bouillon to taste, and pour in half and half. Now, add the dumplings, then give them a good stir, and bring it to a simmer for about 10 minutes before adding in the cream of chicken soup and slurry. Give them a final mix to combine, then serve, and enjoy!
