Take off the rectangle tape in the center of the canvas.  Place long, thin strips of tape around the rectangle and two more in the rectangle. Grab a brilliant blue and titanium white mixture and paint it on both side-vertical rectangles. Squeeze out burnt umber on the top and raw sienna on the bottom of the center square. Mix into a gradient sky using a palette knife and then a brush.

Remove the tapes. Place a long tape strip under the window but leave half a centimeter to paint on. Paint on burnt umber on the bottom half of the half-centimeter line and raw sienna on the top half. With a thin brush, paint the details of the window shutters with a mixture of brilliant blue and raw umber.

On a separate sheet of paper, dob out some rose pink, Quinacridone magenta, burnt umber, Naples yellow, titanium white, and hooker’s green. Mix rose pink, Naples yellow, and titanium white to make a light cherry blossom pink shade and paint it on the bottom area of the canvas to make the ground. Using burnt umber, paint the tree trunk and branches.

Mix some Quinacridone Magenta and rose pink and paint the branches to look like cherry blossom flowers.  Tape together three cotton swabs and add titanium white and rose pink. Dab it on the cherry blossom pink flowers. Using one cotton swab, dab on titanium white.  With a thin brush, mix hooker’s green, titanium white, and Naples Yellow. Paint some leaves on the cherry blossoms.

Mix Payne’s Gray and Titanium White and paint it as the tree’s shade. For the inside window’s shadow, paint with a mixture of Payne’s gray and Naples yellow.  For the light shade of the tree trunk, paint on some Naples Yellow.

Mix burnt umber, Naples yellow, titanium white, and Hooker’s Green for the flower bed on the ground. Using a cotton swab, dab on the falling cherry blossom flowers. To extenuate the tree’s branches, use a thinner brush and brush on burnt umber.

Lastly, take off the tape on the sides of the canvas.
