Recipes on YouTube share a solution to turn your leftover turkey into an easy, cheesy ground turkey casserole. The dish is creamy, savory, and has a delicious crunch to it, thanks to the melted cheese that is topped with breadcrumbs. It also adds the flavor of green chilies and a peppery taste.
Ingredients:
Directions:
Prepare all the needed ingredients.
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Place a large skillet pan over medium-high heat on the stove and pour over olive oil. Add in 1 lb of ground turkey and sauté with the olive oil using a spatula. Pour in 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of ground black pepper. Stir to let the ingredients incorporate with the meat and cook thoroughly. Then, add in 2 cups of finely chopped red onions and 2 tsp of minced garlic. Continue sauteing and pour in 2 cups of chicken broth and 10z of one can of cream of mushroom soup. To combine, stir everything together. Add in 1 1/3 oz of the chopped green chilies and stir to combine. Next, pour in 3 cups of white rice or basmati rice and stir.
Cover the pan with a tight lid and let it cook for about 15 minutes, or until the rice is tender.
After that, carefully transfer it into a casserole and spread evenly. Sprinkle in 1 cup of breadcrumbs, ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese, and 1 1/3 oz of the chopped green chilies. Let the casserole boil on high heat in the oven for 5 minutes or until the cheese is brown and melted.
Carefully take it out of the oven and place a part of the casserole on a platter.
Serve your family and friends, and enjoy!
