Ingredients:

  • 1 package (2 pieces) of refrigerated pie crust
  • 5 ounces of caramel topping
  • 10 ounces of apple pie filling
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp of nutmeg
  • ¼ cup of sugar

Directions:

Step 1

Unroll 1 pie crust, then lay it on the surface, and spread some caramel sauce on top evenly. Open the can of pie filling and transfer it to a mixing bowl, then cut the apples into smaller pieces, and put everything on top of the pie crust making sure to spread nicely and evenly. Unroll the other pie crust, then lay it flatly on the surface, and slice it into thin strips.

Step 2

Lay half of the strips on top of the pie diagonally in one direction, then lay the other half diagonally in the opposite direction, and start carefully cutting it into smaller pieces using a round cookie cutter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or Silpat, arrange them with enough space in between each, then carefully brush them with beaten egg, and sprinkle the top with nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar mixture. Put them in the preheated oven at 350 degrees, and let them bake for about 20 to 25 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
