For a couple of days now, I’ve been wanting to make some fried rice and I even purposely saved some sausages and veggies in the fridge so that I can incorporate them later, all that’s left is to find a good but simple recipe I can grab some ideas and tips from to make my fried rice the best! While browsing the internet, I stumbled upon this video tutorial by Smokin’ & Grillin with AB on YouTube and I was immediately won over. This version is simply mouth-watering and full of the right flavors, I knew that I had to give this one a try, and it was worth it. Go and check it out yourself, and I’m sure you’ll love it as well.

Ingredients:

  • Smoked sausage
  • Soy sauce
  • Sesame seed oil
  • Cajun seasoning
  • Red bell pepper
  • Okra
  • Celery
  • Cooked rice
  • Butter
  • Shrimp, peeled and deveined

Directions:

Step 1

Prep and cut the veggies as well as the sausage, then preheat your griddle and add some oil over it. Add the chopped veggies, then toss and fry them for a few seconds before pushing them onto one side, and then cook the sausages on the space left. Fry them until nice and brown, then push them to the other side, place butter in the middle, and allow it to melt.

Step 2

Give the veggies a good toss along with the melted butter that ran down its way, same with the sausages, then add the shrimp to the middle right down the melted butter, and give them a good toss. Season them with cajun seasoning and toss them individually to combine, give the shrimp a final toss making sure not to overcook them, then push them to one side along with the veggies, and push the sausages together with them, too.

Step 3

Now, add the cookie rice to the space that’s left, then toss them nicely and consistently, and add some soy sauce and sesame seed oil all over them. Give the rice a good toss to combine it with the soy sauce evenly, then taste and adjust as needed, and then bring and toss everything together until well combined. Turn off the heat, then add some chopped green onions, and give them a good mix. Transfer the fried rice to a serving dish, tray, or bowl, then serve, and enjoy!
