  • 2 whole eggs
  • 55 grams or ¼ cup of sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 370ml or 1½ cups of fresh milk
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1 tbsp of granulated sugar

Directions:

Step 1

Slice the bread into ¾-inch thick pieces, then cut each piece into 9 smaller pieces or cubes, and transfer them to a 22cm x 14cm or approx. 8″ x 5″. Make sure to spread the bread nice and even, then set it aside. Prepare a large mixing bowl, then add the egg, sugar, and vanilla extract, and then whisk them together just to combine. Next, slowly pour in the fresh milk while continuously mixing until well combined.

Step 2

Now, pour the mixture evenly over the bread, and press the pieces of bread down to submerge them into the milk mixture. Slice the butter into smaller pieces, then place them all over the top of the bread, then sprinkle sugar all over the top, and put it inside and at the lower middle rack of a preheated oven. Let it bake at 180°C or 350°F for about 17 to 20 minutes, then serve, and enjoy.
