During special occasions or whenever there’s a gathering or party I’m hosting, I always make sure to serve this yummy side dish by Food Wishes on YouTube because a special day or event requires equally special food! This is one of my favorite recipes because it’s super easy and simple to prepare yet so addicting that my guests never stop eating it until it’s all gone. Trust me, it’s that good, so try it out now, and see for yourself!
Step 1
Wash and peel the carrots, then trim off the top and bottom ends, and cut them into bite-sized pieces (cut thickly on the smaller end, then cut thinly on the larger end). Place a skillet pan on a stove over medium-high heat, then add the butter, and allow it to melt. Once foamy and melted, add the carrots and spread them in a single layer, then season them with some salt to taste, and let them cook for about 5 to 6 minutes. Toss and flip the carrots, then let them cook for another 5 to 6 minutes, and then reduce the heat to medium-low.

Step 2
Now, carefully add the bourbon, then cook them for about 2 to 3 minutes until most of the liquid has evaporated, and pour in the brown sugar. Mix them all together until well combined, then let them simmer for about 5 minutes or until tender, and then raise the heat to medium-high to reduce the sauce. Once cooked to desired doneness, add some cayenne and black pepper to taste, then give them a good toss, and turn off the heat. Transfer them to a serving plate, then garnish with thyme, and serve. Enjoy!
