Step 1

In a large bowl, add the eggs, egg yolks, salt, white sugar, and brown sugar, then whisk vigorously for 1 minute until light and frothy, and then add the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, lemon zest, milk, and heavy cream.

Step 2

Continue to whisk them until well combined, then add the bread slices, and submerge them completely. Let it sit for about 20 minutes, then make sure to press down the bread now and then until the custard has been absorbed.

Step 3

Preheat your oven to 375°F, then brush the bottom and sides of a 9×13-inch baking dish with 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and transfer half of the soaked bread to the bottom of the dish in an even layer.

Step 4

Add the blueberries and spread them evenly on top, then add the remaining soaked bread on top, and pour the custard butter over the bread. Brush the top with the remaining melted butter, then place the dish on top of a baking sheet.

Step 5

Place it in the center rack of your preheated oven, then allow it to bake for about 1 hour or until puffed and golden brown, and let it sit for at least 20 to 30 minutes to cool down until slightly warm. Serve and enjoy!
