Looking for a new way of serving potatoes? Try this recipe by Tastemade on YouTube! These blooming potatoes are super crispy and savory and can be served with different types of toppings that are sure to blow your tastebuds away.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees, then line a sheet pan with aluminum foil, and set it aside. Using a paring knife, cut open one longer and wider side of the potato making sure to remove just a thin layer off, then on the same side, cut rings inside of the potato about half an inch from each other, and when you get to the center, remove the innermost circle, this will hold the dip later. Flip the potato over, then cut slices around the potato starting from the center and going out towards the side slicing all the way through and leaving the center of the potato intact. Brush the potato with olive oil and season it with salt and pepper, then place them on the prepared foil-lined sheet pan.

Step 2
Place them in the preheated oven, then let them bake at 400 degrees for about 1 hour or until the potatoes are starting to brown and the layers are starting to pull away from each other, then remove them from the oven, and let cool. Place a pot on a stove, then add some oil, and let it heat up to about 350 degrees. In a small mixing bowl, combine the flour and old bay seasoning, then lightly dredge the potatoes with it, and deep fry for about 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. You can serve it with cheese, sour cream, bacon, and chives, or cheese, guacamole, and red onion, or chili, cheese sauce, and jalapeño on top. Enjoy!
