Quilting is the best hobby I have ever gotten myself into and it is also my favorite activity when I want to relax and take my mind off of something. If you are also considering trying out quilting, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I do! However, if you’re a seasoned quilter looking for something simple and easy that you can try on the weekend, then this is the perfect project for you. What’s even better is that it comes with a free pattern, too. Simply watch this video tutorial by Jordan Fabrics on YouTube to see how this quilt is done and visit her website to see all of her amazing works.
Step 1
Draw a diagonally at the center of the small fabric squares from corner to corner, then a small fabric square piece on the upper right corner of a large fabric square with their right sides facing together, and sew along the marked line. Trim the excess fabric about ¼ inch away from the stitching line, then press the fabric open, and repeat the same process to the lower left corner of your large fabric square. Continue to piece together the rest of the fabric pieces until you have about 120 blocks.

Step 2
Lay out the blocks and arrange them into 12 rows with 10 blocks each, then make sure that their direction follows the diagram, and secure them together with fabric pins. Start sewing the pieces together in rows, make sure to lay them together with their right sides facing, then sew down one side, and press open. Once done stitching the rows, sew them together until you have 2 units, then sew them together down the center, and press open. Lastly, add the border, binding, and backing, then quilt however you want, and you’re done!
