Ingredients:
Apple Mix
- 1½ tbsp of granulated sugar
- 3 tsp of cinnamon powder
- 5 small apples, peeled and diced
Cake Batter
- 3¼ cups of flour
- ¼ cup of granulated sugar
- 4 tsp of baking powder
- 2 tsp of vanilla sugar
- 300ml or 1¼ cups of milk
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsp of sunflower oil
Brown Sugar Mix
- ¾ cup of brown sugar
- 3 tsp of cinnamon powder
- 6 tbsp of sunflower oil or ½ cup of melted butter
Glaze
- 1½ cups of powdered sugar
- 70ml or approx. 5 tbsp of milk
Directions:
Step 1
Peel and core each apple, then cut them into small bite-sized pieces, then place them in a large bowl, and add in the cinnamon and sugar. Toss them together until well coated and set them aside. In another mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, milk, eggs, baking powder, and vanilla sugar, then give them a good mix until the batter is combined and there are no more lumps, add the oil, and continue whisking them until smooth.

Step 2
Add the prepared apples, then gently fold them in until incorporated, and transfer the batter to a deep baking pan lined with parchment paper. Spread it evenly and smoothly, then in a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon powder until combined, add the oil, and keep mixing until incorporated. Dollop them on top of the batter, then roughly spread them all over the top using a spoon as shown in the video tutorial, and then place them in the preheated oven.
Step 3
Allow it to bake at 392°F or 200°C for about 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean, then transfer to a wire cooling rack, and let it cool down while preparing the glaze. In a large bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until completely combined, then immediately pour it all over the top of the warm cake, and let it set and completely cool down. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
