Onion rings are one of my favorite foods to eat for a snack or on the side of crispy and tasty fried chicken wings! They are so good and addicting, and they are the best way to cook and serve onions, plus, they can be paired with any dipping sauce.

Now they are easier to prepare with the help of an air-fryer, it takes away the hassle of cooking onion rings where you’d usually deep fry them, and instead, all you have to do is wait until they’re ready. Learn this recipe by Cooking with Coit on YouTube and give it a try!

Step 1

In a large bowl, whisk together the egg and buttermilk, then in another bowl, add the flour, salt, garlic powder, and paprika, and whisk until uniform, and in the final bowl, add the panko breadcrumbs.

Step 2

Cut off each end of the onion, then peel off the skin, and start cutting into ½-inch thick pieces. Separate them into rings, then coat them in the flour mixture one at a time, dip them in the egg and milk mixture, and finally coat them with breadcrumbs.

Step 3

Press the breadcrumbs lightly onto the onion rings, then place them in the air fryer basket, and spray them lightly with olive oil. Let them cook at 400°F for about 9 to 13 minutes or until golden, and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
