In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the yeast, water, sugar, evaporated milk, salt, shortening, eggs, and vanilla extract, then beat them together until well combined, and pour the in about 2 cups of flour. Step 2

Lightly flour your work surface, then transfer the dough, and roll it until ¼ to ½ inch thick. Cut the dough into round pieces with a hole at the center, then set them aside, and let them rise for 30 minutes or until it doubles in size. Once ready to fry, preheat the air fryer to 350°F, then place 3 to 4 donuts in the basket making sure they are spaced enough so that they do not touch, and spray them with cooking oil.

Step 3

Air fry the donuts for about 4 minutes or until golden brown, then flip them halfway through the cooking time and cook the rest of the donuts. Transfer the fried donuts to a wire cooling rack, then cover them with a layer of paper towels, and let them cool down for about 1 to 2 minutes. While letting them cool down, mix together the melted butter, powdered sugar, salt, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and water in a mixing bowl, then dip each donut, and put them in a wire rack to cool down and set.
