As a quilting beginner, I always try to find easy projects to practice my current skills and further my quilting knowledge. One of my favorite quilt block patterns to make is from Cut and Create on YouTube. I’ve done quite a few quilt projects with this dream weaver quilt block pattern. It’s quick and easy, especially for beginners like me, and doesn’t need advanced cutting and sewing.

I also like how versatile this pattern is. You can make it scrappy with your stash of unused fabrics or make a pretty solid-colored quilt. I like mine clean and simple, so I always tend to make it with solid colors in pastels. But this will totally look good in a scrappy form! What are you waiting for; grab your materials now and start making this beautiful quilt today. Check out the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions.
To start, cut all your fabric requirements accordingly and set them aside. (Make sure the squares correspond to the color/pattern of your rectangles.) Once you’re done, start assembling the quilt block.

Place the four white squares on the four corners, the four colored squares beside the whites, and then the rectangles in the middle. (Refer to the image below for the exact placements of each fabric.) Once you’re done, sew the little squares together first, then attach each rectangle beside them. After this, sew the four units you just made like a four-patch, then press the block nicely.
Repeat these steps to make more blocks for your desired quilt size.
