Spring season is here; it’s time to bring out your floral decor! And if you’re still looking for a DIY decor project for the season, try this floral basket hanger from We Craft Around on Youtube. This adorable floral decor is easy to make, and the materials are readily available at Dollar Tree. Watch the video tutorial below to learn how to make this.

Materials:

  • burlap fabric
  • hanging tag sign
  • basket
  • craft sticks
  • twine
  • Spanish moss
  • 6 tumbling blocks
  • greenery
  • faux roses
  • white chalk paint
  • mod podge
  • hot glue
  • gorilla glue

Directions:

Step 1

Remove as much paper as possible from the front and back of the sign. Then, paint both sides with one coat of white chalk paint. Dry completely. Next, take the burlap fabric, place it over the hanger, and cut a piece a little bit bigger than the sign. After this, apply a generous layer of mod podge on the front with one coat. While the mod podge is still wet, place down the fabric, and smoothen it out. Let it dry completely. Once it dries, trim off the excess burlap around the edge, then do a layer of mod podge on the edge of the burlap to avoid fraying. Next, use a ruler to mark a straight line where you will cut. Just mark an inch from the bottom of the basket, and go straight up and mark. Cut both of those lines then on the bottom where they meet.

Step 2

Now, trim the craft sticks, and glue them against the side and bottom edge of the basket. After this, paint the entire front, sides, and bottom with white chalk paint. Next, take a combination of gorilla and hot glue, add it to the side of one of the tumbling blocks, and place it right on the craft stick on the side of the basket. Do this two on each side and two on the bottom. After this, add a combination of gorilla and hot glue to the sides of the tumbling blocks, and place it on the tag. Finally, make a hang by pushing a small screwdriver on top and adding some twine. Then, add some Spanish moss to the basket and decorate it with some greenery and faux roses.
