Spare yourself from stressing over a lot of used CDs and put them to good use by turning them into these adorable hanging decor! This is very easy to use and requires only very few materials. You can finish this project within only a few minutes, so go ahead and collect all of your old CDs and start with this project today. This clever craft is by NPS Crafts on YouTube.
Step 1
Make a star pattern out of a 4×4 cm (1.5×1.5 inches) paper, then another on a 4.5×4.5 cm (1.8×1.8 inches) paper. Trace these star templates onto the CDs, then carefully heat the bottom with a lighter before you cut them out. Cut out a total of 14 big-sized stars and 10 small-sized stars. Then using 1 CD slightly overlapped on another CD, trace a crescent moon, heat it with a lighter and cut out, make another crescent moon. Set them all aside. Take 1 star and spread glue over the wrong side, place a single thread with a looped end on the glued star, then get another star and attach them with their wrong sides in. Insert a bead at the very top of the star’s top point, then insert 4 more beads with 1 inch in between each other (to lock the beads in place, simply insert the thread inside twice to make a loop). Attach another pair of stars an inch above the final bead, then insert 4 beads with an inch of space in between each bead. Leave about 4-5 inches of excess thread from the last bead. Then, make 3 more of this to have a total of 4 pieces.

Step 2
Make a shorter line by attaching only 1 pair of stars at the end, then 2 beads at the top. You can also make a variety of lengths and arrangements. Create 5 pieces of these shorter versions. To create the centerpiece, simply attach the pair of the moon at the very bottom of the thread, then about an inch above attach 1 pair of stars, and bead at one pointed side. To assemble, start by wrapping a silver lace around the large metal ring tightly, securing the ends with hot glue. Then, begin looping the pieces over the bottom of the metal, make sure that they’re tied about an inch away from the ring, knot several times then cut the excess thread. Arrange the pieces alternately according to length and pattern. Take the 4 shorter pieces over evenly with the moon centerpiece in between two shorter pieces. Fold a double thread into two then tie a knot at the end, insert and loop it over the topmost center of the metal ring, then insert two beads at the top.
