Organizer boxes come in handy all the time because I have a lot of miscellaneous things that lay around. This tutorial by SULTANIN OYUNCAK ATÖLYESİ on YouTube shows how to make an organizer box with plastic vegetable crates. Vegetable crates can be found at grocery stores, and often it gets thrown away. This is an inexpensive project that can be made under an hour. I like how there’s not much sewing to create this organizer box. This organizer box can be used to store fabric and sewing items. Also, this is a cute box that can be used to store anything around the house. I love simple and minimalist designs, so I would recreate this organizer box with a solid color and lace. I know a lot of people who work in the service industry, so I’ll be able to get the plastic vegetable crates with ease.

Materials:

  • vegetable crates
  • cardboard
  • foam sponge
  • hot glue gun
  • velvet fabric
  • fabric
  • embroidered fabric
  • lace
  • PVC Dekota Sheet

Directions:

First, take cardboard and lay down the vegetable crate on its side to outline and fill in the top of a box shape. Once that is glued to the crate, take the foam sponge and glue it around on the outside.

In conclusion, there is no way you would’ve guessed from the outside, the box is made out of a plastic vegetable crate. I love recycling things and turning them into something useful. It surprises me there are constantly people out there with innovative and creative ideas.
