Our laundry room was a disaster, but I finally managed to get a new washer and dryer and I really thought that would make the laundry room look a lot better and it did for a few days, but then I clearly saw that the new, shiny, gorgeous washer and dryer were really highlighting the fact that everything else looked so bad. So my husband and I started scouring Youtube for ideas to give our sad little laundry room a complete makeover. We found this excellent video where a guy built shelves and really gave his laundry room a modernized update and we really liked what he did, so we used that a sort of template for what our laundry room could look like. There were so many cool things this Youtuber did in his video to his laundry room.

He started by removing the outdated doors to his laundry room.

Then he took out all the 1990s dysfunctional wire shelving that makes everything fall over and looks so dated.

Then he made a countertop out of plywood and sealed it with varnish, it looked amazing. Then, he fitted his new washing machine and dryer under the countertop.

Then he installed the shelving he made from simple plywood and secured them with inexpensive brackets from Lowes Home Improvement.

Then he installed very affordable LED lighting underneath his shelves using Command Strips.

Then he finished his project by adding this cute inexpensive storage baskets and the overall appearance was really great with this crowning finishing touch.

This play by play tutorial gave my husband and I so much inspiration, it looks truly amazing and we can’t wait to do ours.
