Do you use your laptop a lot and notice it is heating up on your legs while using it or need it to be a little higher while you’re sitting in bed and working on your laptop? Well, I’ve experienced both of these problems and this DIY project is the solution to both!
The thick, comfortable cushion keeps the heat away while the desktop provides a stable work surface. You can even customize the top with decorative paper to reflect your own unique style, by decoupaging it onto the board.

When I was in high school and college, I had this great beanbag lap desk. I did all my homework on it. I could sit on my bedroom floor, on the bed, on the couch…wherever! It was just perfect. I decided that I wanted to get my kids each their own lap desk for doing their own homework. If you’ve looked online recently, the best price I could find was about $24 + shipping. Thus the convenience of this great tutorial!
Now I know a lot of you are thinking you can just buy these, but when they’re so easy to make, why bother? Besides, they make great gifts for people…kids and adults! So, while you’re making one and have all the stuff out and available, why not whip out a few? If you’re anything like me, I’m always needing a gift for one of my kids to give to their friends and this is the perfect solution!
Many of us go to a lot of football games and the seats get hard really fast, so I needed something to sit on that was softer…this is where the pillow part has another use!
