This DIY hanging donkey tail planter project embodies the principles of sustainability and creativity. By repurposing an old cake box, you’re reducing waste and promoting environmental responsibility. This project not only enhances your living space with natural beauty but is also an enjoyable activity you can do with your friends and family. Learn how to make it by watching the video tutorial below for the step by step instructions, or continue reading down for the complete written procedure.
To start, add small holes around the perimeter of the circle, then remove half of the circle on top as well as the excess plastic portion around. Once done, secure the cake box by putting a zip tie through the holes around the circle (you only need to put zip ties on four points of the circle).
Now, add some planting soil inside the cake box along with some small pebbles in front. After this, plant the donkey tail. Put a rope for the hang, then hang the planter in your garden or patio. Spray some water every now and then. Your DIY planter is now finished!
