This is the most adorable upcycling project I’ve ever made! Lista Tsurayya has created a gem in her YouTube video down below. I would have never thought it would be this easy to make a floating teacup, let alone make one out of an old plastic bottle.
Cut off the top of a plastic water bottle. Next, cut the lid off the bottle.
Create the base for your teacup using cardboard and felt. Cut a circle to fit the hold of your plastic bottle, then wrap the cardboard in felt. Attach the felt using hot glue.
Stick the double-sided tape onto the plastic part of the cup. Begin wrapping the cup in your string. attach any loose pieces with hot glue.

Create the handle of the cup. Cut out cardboard in a long strip. then using hot glue wrap that strip in the string as well.
Create the saucer for the cup. Cut out a circle in your cardboard, then a smaller circle on the inside. Then remove about an inch of the outer circle and begin taping the entire circle together.
Use the smaller inner circle and cover it in felt, then repeat the process and make another smaller felt circle for the base of the saucer.

Wrap the saucer you created in the string like you did the cup in step three. Wrap both the inside and outside in string. You can attach the lace ribbon in this step as well.
Place three pieces of wire into some felt and hot glue it together.
Attach the wire to the inside of your cup and the other end to the inside of the saucer.
Glue on the fake flowers and pearl beads in the saucer and up the wiring to the teacup. This creates the illusion of flowers being poured out of the teacup into the saucer.
