This DIY pop-up card by Craftastic is absolutely adorable! If you have little kids, grandkids, or are a teacher, this would be a perfect craft to do with your littles. I had my class at church make these for their dads this Sunday, and they were so excited about how they came out. You could even make the cards ahead of time and allow the kids to decorate them on their own.

Materials Needed For This DIY:

  • Construction Paper – Black, White and Red
  • Scissors
  • Pen
  • Black Marker
  • Black Buttons
  • Glue
  • Hot Glue

For exact paper, measurements check out Craftastic’s video down below.

Directions:

Step One

Start by cutting a small rectangle into the top of a white piece of paper. Then a smaller one directly on top of the one you just cut, and then one more that is even smaller directly above that. Don’t cut the tops of any of them, just the sides. This is what will create the pop-up effect on your card.

Step Two

Put glue on the outer edge of the card and attach it to your black construction paper while folded in half

Step Three

Cut out letters that say “I Love Dad” and then begin gluing them inside your card.

Step Four

Write “Happy Father’s Day” on the card. Cut out heart shapes with your red construction paper and begin gluing them on as well. Once all the pieces are glued on the inside, you can get started on the outside of the card.

I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
