It’s Arts and Crafts Time! We are going to do Party Poms using colored coffee filters, chinese lantern and a glue gun. You can easily hang this decor and it would look perfect on all occasions. Jessi Jane of the LilyShop will show you how in the video tutorial with the help of the simple steps below.
Step 1: Fold your dyed coffee filters into a taco shape, put glue on bottom middle and fold it again. It should look like a mini-fan. Again, apply glue on the bottom part (this is the area where we would stick the dyed coffee filters to the paper ball lantern.
Step 2: Stick it down on the paper lantern one at a time. Stick them not too loose and not too tight.
Once you filled the lantern with the coffee filters it should now look like this.
Step 3: Take on piece individually , unfold it and Scrunch all of the glued coffee filters. Be careful not to pull them off.
Step 4:Now once your done with step 3 It would look like a flower ball . Next thing we need to do is find the metal part of the lantern and this is where you’re going to hang your string. You can use a string a ribbon to hang the poms around.
Step 5: Lastly: you can embellish them with mini flowers or any designs you want occasionally.
Its just pretty similar to what we did with the coffee filter poms but this one is a bit smaller and made with different materials.
Step 1: fold the round fabric into a taco shape and fold it again, similar concept from what we did on coffee filter poms but this time were using pins to stick them on the Styrofoam ball.
It should now look like this when you’re done filling them up with the fabric.
Step 2:Since the Styrofoam ball doesn’t have that part in which we could tie the lace or the string in. What we need to do is just use a pin or nail to stick the lace or string to the Styrofoam ball. Use Glue stick for additional strength to hold the ball with the string.
And Our Fabric Poms are done! You can put additional creative designs like flowers, glitters or anything that make the poms more gorgeous.
They look good together!
