When I saw this DIY bedside table from Lara Joanna Jarvis on Youtube, I couldn’t believe that it was made out of a couple of IKEA bread bins! It looks gorgeous; one can definitely mistake it for some high-end furniture. I tried making one the other day, and it really elevated my dated space! It looks like a piece of art beside my couch or even my bed. What I like about this DIY project is that it’s super easy to make, doesn’t need complicated woodwork, and it’s inexpensive.

So if you want a piece of chic and easy DIY furniture, try making yours today! This will also make a great personalized gift idea for your loved ones. Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions. All thanks to Lara Joanna Jarvis for this fantastic DIY. Make sure to check her Youtube channel for more tutorials like this.

Materials:

  • 2 pcs. IKEA bread bins
  • furniture paint, the color of your choice
  • furniture wax
  • table legs
  • wood glue
  • cutter
  • masking tape
  • paintbrush

Directions:

Step 1

To start, remove the bottom part of the IKEA bread bins using a cutter. Next, start painting your bread bins with the furniture paint (color of your choice), taping the parts you don’t want paint on. After this, let everything dry completely.

Step 2

Once dried, seal the paint with some furniture wax. Now, using wood glue, attach both bread bins together on the bottom part to form the bedside table. (You can drill some metal support at the back for extra support.) Next, attach the brackets underneath, then put on the legs. Your DIY bedside table is now finished! Place it beside your bed or even couch.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
