This crockpot sweet and sour chicken recipe by Catherine’s Plates on YouTube is an easy recipe if you want homemade Chinese takeout at home. I love sweet and sour chicken, but I’ve never made it in the crockpot. Also, it looks super easy and the chicken looks very tender with all of the flavors all cooked in one. Crockpot recipes are so convenient to make when you’re having a busy day and want dinner served by the time you’re done with errands.

  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 3 bell peppers, chopped (any color combination)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 (20 oz) can pineapple chunks and juice
  • 3-4 green onions, sliced
  • sesame seeds to garnish

  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar

First, mix all of the sauce ingredients in a bowl and set them aside.
