Ingredients:

  • 2.5 lb beef chuck roast
  • 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp coarse salt
  • 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 1/2 lb potatoes
  • 2 large carrots
  • 1 celery stick

Gravy:

  • 1/4 cup rendered fat or cooking oil
  • 1/2 small onion (diced)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 14.5 fl oz low sodium beef broth or stock
  • salt and pepper to taste

Next, after the gravy is finished, add the chuck roast to the bottom and center of the crockpot. Add celery sticks, carrots, and potatoes around the meat. Pour the gravy on top of the chuck roast. Overall, I would love to make this recipe because it’s an inexpensive way to serve protein with other vegetables in the same pot. It soaks up all of the flavors and juices from the gravy and meat. I think it’s a good idea to make this in a crockpot or oven if you don’t have a lot of time to sit around in the kitchen.
