  • Different types of yarn sizes
  • Tapestry needles
  • Magnet
  • Crochet hooks
  • Makeup organizer
  • Tape
  • Pen
  • Scissors
  • Crochet pouch
  • Tape measure
  • Stitch markers

TIP #1: Storing tapestry needles

Since tapestry needles are made of metal, you can easily store them by using a magnet.

TIP #2: Organizing Crochet Hooks

Gather all your crochet hooks and place them in a makeup organizer with many compartments so you can organize them by size.

Use tape to write and mark on the labels for each compartment.

Tip #3: Crochet Essentials

Choose a crochet essentials pouch that will hold everything you need to have a good time knitting wherever and with whomever you want.

A small notebook, a pair of scissors, a crochet hook, a tape measure, stitch markers, tapestry needles, and your favorite pen.

Tip #4: Doubling Yarn from Thickness

This tip is used when you do not have the exact yarn that you need for your project. Hence, consider doubling the yarn.

2 strands of lace = 1 fingerling

2 fingerling strands = worsted weight

2 strands of worsted = bulky

2 bulky strands = super bulky

Tip #5: Treading a tapestry needle

Because of the frayed yarn, it gets frustrating when it’s time to weave the ends of your yarn.

To make it easy, fold the yarn over the needle, tuck the yarn between your fingers, then flip the needle out and insert the yarn into the eye of the needle.

Tip #6: Easiest Slip Knot Ever

Grab the end of the yarn with one hand and wrap it twice around your index finger.

Bring the second loop over the first loop and off your finger. Pull the yarn with your palm to tie and insert your crochet hook into the hole. Secure.

Start Crocheting!

Tip #7: Working in a starting chain

Instead of doing a typical crochet chain, work your first row of stitches at the back of the bump of your chain.

Tip #8: Foundation Stitches

Start with a slip knot and chain two. Pull up a loop in the first chain that you made. Repeat the process.
