Breakfast has always been a favorite of mine. The truth is, I’m often pressed for time to prepare elaborate meals. While I’m getting ready for work, I normally just grab some bread, slather it with jam, and munch away. However, I’ve just come to the realization that finding easy-to-make dishes is essential if I want to eat well and stay healthy. After all, many people believe that breakfast is crucial to a healthy day. Thanks to Catherine’s Plates on YouTube for this simple lesson on how to create crescent sausage squares with just three ingredients. I can pair this with my bread, eggs, and coffee. You should try this recipe as well. You’ll be amazed at the results.

Ingredients:

  •  1 pound of uncooked seasoned pork sausage
  • 1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese
  • 2 (8 ct) cans of crescent roll dough
  • optional (1 egg)
  • optional (salt and pepper)

Directions:

Heat the oven to 375 degrees before you begin to prepare your dish.

A medium-high-heat pan is used to brown the sausage. If desired, seasonings like as salt and pepper can be added. Reduce the temperature to a medium-low setting.

In a separate bowl, melt the cream cheese until it is fully smooth. A thin coating of oil should be coated on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish using nonstick cooking spray before baking.

Prepare a baking dish by placing one package of crescent roll dough, unrolled, on the bottom of the dish and allowing the dough to stretch up the sides by approximately a quarter inch. In order to prevent snagging on any exposed edges, squeeze them close.

Before placing the sausage and cream cheese mixture on top of the crescent dough, leave a 1/2-inch border around the bottom of the crescent dough.

As soon as the second package of crescent roll dough is unrolled, place it on top of the sausage mixture to finish it off. Perforated edges should be trimmed together to prevent spillage. By pushing the edges of the top and bottom doughs together, you may seal them together.

For a golden brown finish, brush the top of the crescent dough with a whisked egg before baking.

Pre-heat the oven to 350°F and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and cooked through. Allow to rest. Cut the dough into squares using a sharp knife.
