Ingredients:

  • cooking oil
  • pasta
  • 1 lb shrimp, deveined
  • cajun seasoning, to taste
  • onion powder, to taste
  • garlic powder, to taste
  • smoked paprika, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 4 pcs. Andouille sausage, sliced
  • bell peppers, 1/2 red and 1/2 green (diced)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tbsp chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • parsley, for garnish

Directions:

Step 1

To start, cut your veggies and sausage accordingly and set them aside. Next, season the deveined shrimp with garlic powder, cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and ground black pepper to taste, then add a little oil. Mix well until the shrimp are well coated. Next, heat some oil in a cast-iron skillet, then sear the shrimp on both sides until golden. After searing, remove them from the skillet and set them aside.

Step 2

In the same skillet, set the heat to low medium, then add a little oil. Next, add the onions and deglaze the bottom of the skillet while you saute the onions. Once the onions turn translucent, add the bell peppers and continue to saute until just soft. After this, add the sliced sausages, and cook for four to five minutes until browned. Next, add the minced garlic, brown them, and mix them with the rest of the ingredients. After this, combine a little bouillon powder and 1/2 cup of water in a mixing jug, then pour it into the mixture. Mix all well together.

Step 3

Now, add 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream, give it a good mix, making sure everything is well combined. (You can taste test at this point and add more seasoning.) Simmer for a bit, then stir in 1/4 cup parmesan cheese. Once the sauce thickens, add the cooked pasta and mix it well. Remove from heat, top it with the cooked shrimp, then garnish with some freshly chopped parsley.
