With a canned crescent dough crust that cradles a luscious layer of cream cheese filling, this will surely become one of your favorite homemade treats. Whether you’re whipping up a batch for a cozy family gathering or simply to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings, these little squares of goodness will surely satisfy your cravings.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup melted margarine
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 (8 oz) cans of Crescent roll dough
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar, divided
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease a casserole dish with a nonstick cooking spray. Set it aside. Next, add two packages of softened cream cheese to a medium bowl along with 1 cup of white sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Whisk using an electric mixer until the texture is smooth and creamy. Set aside. To your prepared casserole dish, gently press an 8 oz can of refrigerated crescent roll dough to the bottom. Spread the cream cheese mixture over (you can add nuts or dried fruits if you want at this point), then roll out the second can of the refrigerated crescent roll dough. Place it on top without adding pressure to the center.

Step 2

Pour half of the melted margarine (or butter) over the top dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon mixture (mix together 1 tsp ground cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar). Once done, place it in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes or until the top is crisp and golden brown. After baking, let it rest a bit, then slice it into squares. Share and enjoy!
