Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups cornflake cereal
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and line your baking sheet with parchment paper. Set it aside. Next, add 1 cup butter and 1 cup shortening in a mixing bowl and whisk together using an electric mixer. After this, add 2 cups sugar and continue mixing until everything is well combined. Set it aside. In another bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tsp baking soda, 2 tsp cream of tartar, and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix well. Now, add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, and mix until just combined.

Step 2

Next, add 2 tsp vanilla, mix, then stir in the chopped pecans and cornflake cereal by hand. Mix them until just combined. Once done, mound them up on the prepared baking sheet, then place them in the preheated oven and bake for 13 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
