My family just loves cornbread, and many times I use Jiffy cornbread mix, I am always a little disappointed in the Jiffy version, and everyone prefers the homemade recipe. However, I recently found this awesome cornbread hack using Jiffy mix video recipe tutorial by Mansa Queen, on YouTube, where she has found this ingenious way to make a delicious homemade tasting cornbread using Jiffy mix. The very first thing that you have to understand about this cornbread hack, is that you cannot use the directions on the Jiffy mix. The directions on the mix say that you need to cook it in a 400°F oven for 40 minutes, and you do not want to do that. You need to cook the cornbread in a 350°F oven for 40 minutes because a 400°F oven temperature is going to make the cornbread burned on the outside and raw in the center, not good.
Ingredients For The Jiffy Mix Cornbread Hack:
- 7 tablespoons of melted butter
- 4 tablespoons of sugar (this ingredient is optional because he Jiffy mix is already sweet)
- 1 and 1/4 cups of buttermilk (you can make your own buttermilk by adding a teaspoon of vinegar to regular milk)
- 3 eggs
- 2 boxes of Jiffy Cornbread Mix
- 1 extra tablespoon of butter (for the top of the cooked cornbread)
- 1 extra tablespoon of honey (for the top of the cooked cornbread)
Directions:
