Directions:

Tip#1: When your jeans are too short

Get the measurement of the jean’s width and add 1cm or 0.4 inches to each side, use this measurement to cut 2 pieces of denim fabric, stack them together with their wrong sides facing each other, sew both sides with a 1/4 inch allowance. Turn the fabric right side out, then insert it under the jeans with their seam edges matching. Sew them together with a 1/4 inch allowance, pull the fabric inside the jeans down, then fold it upwards and tuck in the hem to about 1/4 inches, pin in place, then sew the tucked hem onto the jeans itself with a mattress stitch.

Tip#2: Simple and easier way to distress your jeans

Insert 3 needles vertically about half inches apart on the area where you want the holes of your jeans to be, then start scraping the area with the needles with a blade, the amount or size of how you want to distress your jeans depends on your preference.

Tip#3: How to sew a case and a zipper together easily

Stack 2 pieces of the fabric with their right sides together, make sure that they’re also of the same size. Then, place the zipper on top (the side where you want them to be), then mark both sides with about 1/4 inch allowance inward. Then, sew each side with 1.5cm or 0.6 inches seam allowance, leaving a gap on the zipper mark, then continue sewing around. Spread open the fabric where the zipper would be and change to a zipper foot, place the zipper upside down on the spread open fabric, sew it in place, then cut the corners diagonally. Flip the fabric right side out, and poke the corners nicely. You can also use this method for an easy pillowcase.

Tip#4: Adding a stretchable cuff to your sweater or shirt

Get a stretchable fabric and fold it over in half lengthwise, then cut the outer edges in a curved manner because it should be 1cm or 0.4 inches smaller in the middle part. Sew it with a 1/4 inch seam allowance, then flip it right side out and fold it over in half. Insert the cuff fabric on top of the sleeves of the shirt, then match their raw edges together, and pin them in place. Sew the hem together with a 1/2 inch allowance and make sure that you pull the cuff fabric stretch as you do this, then sew the raw edges with an overlock machine.
