Cleaning the corrosion from a leaking battery is simple. In just a few minutes, you can get all of your electronic devices cleaned up and ready for use again. No need to buy a new TV remote. Make sure not to touch the battery corrosion with your bare hands as it can irritate your skin or eyes, so wear gloves and safety glasses when you try this at home.

Before cleaning it make sure to wear gloves and safety glasses for protection. Do not use your bare hands as it can irritate your skin. Remove the batteries, then tap out all the loose stuff.
Grab your Q-tip and dip it into the white vinegar. Lightly dab it around the corrosion. You will hear it sizzling as the vinegar reacts to it. Keep dabbing it around and cleaning it, while making sure that you will not get liquid into the wiring inside.
If there are tough parts, you can use a screwdriver. Just make sure not to go very firm and do it carefully.
After the white vinegar, grab a new Q-tip and dip it into the alcohol. Use it to wipe the residue from the white vinegar.
