When I found this awesome area rug cleaning idea by Nessie Does It, on YouTube, I was excited to try this! This is a really easy method to clean an area rug that just requires going to a car wash. This method is not only easy, but it is also very cheap, all you need is a few quarters to put into the car wash coin box. The car wash self-serve pressure washer has its own soap, and clean water supply, so all you have to do is to load your rug up in the car and take it to your local neighborhood car wash.

You will begin by taking your area rug to the car wash and lay your rug out in the area where you pull your car in. You will insert the quarters and use the water function to wet the rug, then switch to soap mode, and really work it into the rug. Make sure and brush that foam into the rug.

This is such a great way to clean a rug if you don’t have a pressure washer. All you have to do from here is to take it home and hang it over a fence or something, so it ventilates well.
