When I found this awesome video tutorial by Dave Hax, on YouTube, describing a new way to clean copper pots, I had to try it! There are many cleaners that will clean metal, but if I can use something super simple that is natural and chemical-free, I am all game for the new ideas. This is the most simple and basic cleaner you will ever find, and completely non-toxic and devoid of any harmful fumes that are very hard to avoid unless you clean everything outside. The acids in the vinegar really do an excellent job of stripping off the grunge that can collect on the metals, and the salt makes the perfect mix to really strip off all of the tarnish.

Materials Needed To Clean Copper Pots:

  • Salt (ordinary table salt)
  • Vinegar (30% cleaning vinegar is good for this type of project)
  • A scrubby
  • Warm water

Directions:

In this awesome video tutorial by Dave Hax, on YouTube, you will learn how to clean your copper in the cheapest, most non-toxic scrubbing recipe around. You will begin by taking your tarnished pot to the sink and covering it with a generous sprinkling of salt. Then, you will add the vinegar slowly, letting it mix with the salt, and rubbing it with a scratchy sponge.
