What’s your favorite Holiday snack? Ours is this easy classic sugar cookie by Cook Me Food. It has a sweet and buttery taste with a chewy texture that we absolutely love. Baking this yummy treat at home is always a fun experience, even if you’re a beginner. This recipe is super simple and doesn’t require any mixer.

Even though the recipe is foolproof, there is still a chance that cookies may not spread or become dry and crumbly. If this happens, you might want to adjust the amount of flour you added, as it may be too much. To make sure you are adding the right amount of flour to your mixture, use the spoon and level method. This old-fashioned cookie recipe will make about 24 cookies, which is perfect for sharing.
Note: the baking powder is optional but it will make your cookie lift more

In a large mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix until well combined then set aside.
Add the softened unsalted butter in a different bowl and cream until smooth using a silicone spatula.
Gradually add 1 1/2 cup of sugar to the creamed butter, mixing in between.
Add one egg to the cream mixture and mix until well incorporated.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the cream mixture, mixing after every addition. Place in the fridge for an hour.
Scoop the mixture using an ice cream scoop and roll into a ball. Coat it with sugar and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining mixture. Make sure they are evenly spaced.
Bake at 375F for 8 to 11 minutes. Let them cool before serving. Enjoy!
