Nothing beats a classic recipe like this salisbury steak and gravy from TheWolfePit on Youtube. This recipe may look simple, but it’s bursting with flavors. And don’t get me started with the gravy – it’s rich, thick, and compliments the steak really well. Sometimes, simplicity is the key to an unforgettable dinner with the family. Watch the video below and serve this to your family today.
In a large mixing bowl, add 1 egg, 1/2 cup of milk, 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 2 tbsp dried minced onion, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 cup bread crumbs. Mix it and get everything well combined. Next, add the 2 lb ground chuck and continue mixing it. After this, form the mixture into an oval shape. (You can form them into burger patties or small meatballs, it’s up to you.) In a large skillet over medium-high, cook the patties for about two minutes on each side. After cooking, set aside the patties. In the same skillet, add chopped yellow onion. (You can also add the 2 cups of sliced mushroom at this point.) Saute for two to three minutes. Add 1 tbsp beef base followed by 2 cups of water. Mix it to dissolve the beef base.

Add the patties back to the pan, then bring them over to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium-low at this point and let it simmer for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. After 1 hour, add the cornstarch slurry to thicken up the gravy. Give it a good mix to get the slurry well-combined with the gravy. Transfer it to a plate, then serve.
