In a bowl, put the streak strips and egg. Mix thoroughly. Then add cornflour, salt, pepper, and white paper into the steak creating a sticky mixture.
Heat the large frying pan and 3 tablespoons of oil. When the oil is hot, place the beef and spread it out. This will probably take 2 batches. Fry the steak until brown and crispy for approximately 5-6 minutes.
Once crispy, remove from the pan and place in a kitchen roll to soak up the excess fat. Continue cooking for the second batch.
After frying the beef, it’s time to make the crispy chili beef sauce. Then add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of oil to the pan and bring down the heat to medium. Next, add the sliced onion and cook for 2 minutes until slightly softened. Then combine the chili, ginger, and garlic. Stir for 30 seconds. Next, add rice vinegar, soy sauce, tomato puree, tomato ketchup, and chili sauce to the pan. Turn up the heat and let it bubble for a few minutes. Then add the beef back and combine it with the sauce. Heat for 1-2 minutes.
You can now serve it with egg-fried rice, boiled rice, or noodles. Enjoy!
