I am a fan of cookies and I’m always on the lookout for recipes that I can try easily, whether they’re traditional or creative versions, it doesn’t matter to me, what matters is that they taste incredible upon the first try. This chewy red velvet cookie recipe by Shean’s Kitchen on YouTube impressed not only me but my family as well! Also, I think this could go well on a date night, so give it a try and tell us how you did.
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, sift the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Whisk until incorporated and set aside. In a separate large bowl, put the room temperature butter and beat with a hand mixer. Add brown and white sugar to the butter and beat them again until it becomes light and fluffy. Add an egg then beat with a hand mixer before adding the vanilla extract and red food coloring. Beat the ingredients until well combined.

Step 2
Pour in the dry ingredients and beat, then fold gently and mix using a spatula. Add white chocolate chunks (if you’re not a fan of white chocolate you can use semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips), fold them in gently then cover it with a plastic wrap. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper then grease or spray with cooking spray. Using a small ice cream scoop, start scooping the mixture and place them on the sheet pan, top it with more chocolate chunks then bake them in a preheated oven at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes.
