Ingredients:

  • cake mold (22 cm in diameter)
  • 280 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • salt (to taste)
  • 1 pc egg
  • 80 g sugar
  • 100 g butter

For the filling:

  • 300 g cherries
  • 80 – 100 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Directions:

Step 1

Put 280 g of flour in a medium bowl. Add a dash of salt and 1 tsp baking powder; mix it. Next, add 100 g of butter and mash them using your hands, set aside. In a small bowl, add 1 pc of egg and 80 g of sugar. Mix it until the sugar dissolves. Add the egg mixture into the flour mixture then mash it with your hands. The consistency should end up like crumbs. After this, put half of the mixture into the mold with a diameter of 22 cm, and spread them across evenly. Make sure to build the mixture up to the mold wall. Add the 300 g of whole cherries and sprinkle 80 – 100 g of sugar followed by 2 tbsp of cornstarch. Add the remaining crumbs on top.

Step 2

Place it in the oven and bake at 356 degrees F for about 35 – 40 minutes. After 40 minutes, pull the cherry pie out of the oven and remove it from the cake mold. Cut a piece then serve!
