I’ve just found the best side dish from Fifteen Spatulas on Youtube. Whether it’s steak, beef, or chicken, this potato casserole will not disappoint. What’s more, it’s a one-bowl recipe, super quick and easy to make, and it tastes fantastic! Learn how to make this by watching the video below.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 3 lb yukon gold potatoes
- 1/4 lb gruyere cheese, grated
- 1/4 lb parmigiano reggiano cheese, grated
- 3 cloves of garlic, pressed or minced
- 10 sprigs of fresh thyme
- 2 tsp salt
- black pepper
Directions:
Step 1
In a bowl, combine 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 cup of milk. Thinly slice the potatoes and place them into the milk mixture. Next, grate your cheeses, then add them to the sliced potatoes. Add 3 cloves of minced garlic, 10 sprigs of fresh thyme, 2 tsp salt, and freshly cracked black pepper. Mix all together to incorporate the ingredients.

Step 2
Dump the potatoes into your baking dish and arrange them evenly. Place the baking dish on a sheet pan and cover it tightly with aluminum foil. Place it in the oven at 400 degrees F and bake for one hour. Remove the foil from the pan after one hour and place it back in the oven and bake for another 30 minutes.
