Are you looking for a great hors d’oeuvres recipe to serve as a snack or appetizer at the big Halloween bash you are planning? These Caramel Apple Grapes are perfect for any guest list, I have served them to children, minus the Vodka, of course, and adults too. They were perfect for the last wine party I had for my Jr. League friends and I’m planning on serving them at my youngest Son’s Halloween Party this year.

They are so quick to assemble, you just wash your grapes then soak in Vodka, only if you are serving to adults, then drain. Chop a small plate of nuts, I used peanuts, but any nut will work fine. Place all your grapes on toothpicks, my kids love this part, then melt your caramel over low heat. When the caramel has melted, dip the grape on the toothpick into the melted caramel covering the grape halfway up. Then roll the sticky side into the chopped nuts, place on a serving tray.

When I served these at my wine party, they complimented the white Chablis I served perfectly. The sugary caramel provided the perfect balance of sweet to the tanginess of the wine. I ended up having to go to the kitchen to make more. Tonight I am going to make 3 bunches of grapes because my troop of Halloween Goblins are going to gobble them up in the first hour. This is truly a fantastic recipe and I cannot recommend it enough.
