I was flabbergasted when I saw this nifty little DIY hack! This is brilliant! I knew there had to be an easier way, but would have never thought to do this!
Let’s face it, eating the icing is so much easier than icing the cake, right?
Well, it doesn’t have to be difficult to ice a cake any more. America’s Test Kitchen shows us this incredibly clever idea that will cut your cake icing time in half…if not more!
Frosting a cake without a rotating cake stand can be a pain because you either have to hover around it or be really careful adjusting it around the counter. But if you don’t make cakes that often, improvising a cake stand will save you from buying yet another kitchen gadget.
All you need is the insert of a tube pan and a Mason jar. Turn the insert upside down and put it inside the Mason jar, put the cake on top and you can rotate it while you frost it.
The tube pan stays stable in the jar and all you have to do when you’re finished frosting it is to transfer it to your serving platter!
Frost cakes the easy way with a Mason Jar and a cake pan!
Watch how it’s done in this step by step tutorial and don’t forget to do this when you have a cake to frost!
