It’s pecan season and the pecans are pouring in from Fredricksburg, Texas. I made butter pecan upside-down cake with leftover pecans from my massive pecan picking extravaganza and it turned out so delicious. This cake has fresh seasonal pecans in a combination of melted butter and brown sugar topping a rich, buttery, delicate bundt cake. You add alcohol to the cake glaze to really give it a kick, it’s so yummy! It’s not hard at all and the ingredients are very basic.

  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of corn syrup
  • 1 cup of chopped pecans
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 box cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of oil
  • 1 cup of evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
